La Trinidad, often called the "Strawberry Capital of the Philippines," is the capital municipality of Benguet province in the Cordillera Administrative Region. It's located just 6 kilometers north of Baguio City.
Just a short journey from Baguio City, La Trinidad offers a unique blend of agricultural charm, cultural sites, and cool mountain air.

Getting There
By jeepney: This is the most common and budget-friendly way. Look for jeepneys with "La Trinidad" signs from various terminals in Baguio, including those near Center Mall, Bokawkan Road, or Magsaysay Avenue. The fare is usually around PHP 10-15, and the ride takes about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.
By Taxi: Taxis are readily available in Baguio and can take you directly to your desired destination in La Trinidad. The fare typically ranges from PHP 130-160, and the travel time is around 10-15 minutes.
By Private Car: If you have your own vehicle, it's a straightforward drive north on the main highway (Halsema Highway). Parking is available at most attractions.
Places to Visit
Strawberry Farm

Location: Barangay Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet (part of Benguet State University).
Description: The ultimate La Trinidad experience! Stroll through vast strawberry fields, pick your own fresh strawberries (seasonal), and indulge in a variety of strawberry-based products like jams, wines, ice cream, and taho (a sweet tofu dessert). You'll also find stalls selling fresh vegetables and souvenirs.
Entrance Fee: FREE to enter the farm. Strawberry picking has a separate fee based on the weight of the strawberries you pick (expect around PHP 500 per kilo, but prices can fluctuate).
Opening Hours: Generally daily, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Strawberry picking is usually from February to April, but can extend. It's always best to check current conditions, as the availability of ripe strawberries depends on the harvest.
Bell Church
Location: FA 347 Bell Church Road, Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet (near the Baguio boundary).
Description: A stunning Taoist temple complex with impressive Chinese architecture, vibrant colors, intricate details, and serene gardens. It's a peaceful place for cultural appreciation and photography.
Entrance Fee: Around PHP 20 per person. There might also be a parking fee of approximately PHP 20.
Opening Hours: Daily, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It typically closes for lunch between 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM.
STOBOSA Colorful Houses (Valley of Colors)
Location: Barangay Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet. It's immediately visible as you enter La Trinidad from Baguio.
Description: This eye-catching community project transformed a hillside into a giant, vibrant artwork, inspired by Brazil's favelas. It's a fantastic spot for a quick photo opportunity and a symbol of community spirit.
Entrance Fee: FREE, as it's a public art installation.

Mt. Kalugong (also known as Mt. Kalugong Cultural Village)

Location: Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet. It's accessible via jeepney from Baguio City.

Description: La Trinidad is also known as the "Rose Capital" due to the extensive flower farms in Bahong. You can immerse yourself in fields of various cut flowers, learn about floriculture, and often purchase fresh blooms directly from the growers.

Valleywood Adventure Park

Location: Tayaoan, Tawang Road, La Trinidad, Cordillera Administrative Region, Philippines, La Trinidad, Philippines

Mt. Costa

Description: "Mt. Costa" in La Trinidad, Benguet is a sprawling, six-hectare garden museum or nature park that has been artfully developed on a terraced, naturally inclined landscape. It's often referred to as a "mountain" in its name due to its elevated location and expansive grounds, but it's primarily a landscaped attraction.
Entrance Fee: The entrance fee is around PHP 350 with a meal. PHP 300 with snacks, PHP 200 no food. La Trinidad residents may have a discounted rate of PHP 150. There is also free entrance for children 3 years old and below.

Living Gifts Nursery

Location: Sitio Riverside, Brgy. Alno, La Trinidad, Benguet
Description: Living Gifts Nursery in La Trinidad, Benguet, is a popular destination for plant enthusiasts, especially those who appreciate succulents and cacti. It's not just a place to buy plants; it's often described as a "plant paradise" or a "plant museum" due to its extensive and diverse collection.
