As a Filipino, it’s easy to overlook Manila. It’s often seen as just the capital we pass through—busy, crowded, and chaotic. But every time I spend time here, I’m reminded that Manila is more than that.
It’s a city filled with history, culture, and everyday stories that reflect who we are as a people.
Even if you’ve been here before, there’s always something worth rediscovering. These are some of the places I personally keep coming back to—and why I think they’re still worth visiting.
1. Intramuros
No matter how many times I visit Intramuros, it never loses its charm. Walking along its walls and streets always reminds me of our colonial past and how much history is packed into one place.

This place hits differently when you really think about it. Knowing what José Rizal went through here makes every visit feel more meaningful.
3. Rizal Park
Luneta is one of those places that feels familiar no matter what stage of life you’re in. Whether it’s field trips, family outings, or just a quick walk, it’s always part of the Manila experience.
It might seem touristy, but honestly, it’s still a fun place to visit—especially with family or friends.
5. National Museum of the Philippines
This is one place I think more Filipinos should visit. It really deepens your understanding of our identity, art, and history—and it’s free.

It’s amazing to think this church has stood the test of time. Every visit feels like stepping into a preserved piece of our heritage.
7. Binondo
Binondo never disappoints. Whether it’s a quick food trip or a full-on food crawl, there’s always something new (and delicious) to try.
8. Divisoria
Divisoria is chaotic—but in a way that feels uniquely Filipino. If you’re patient enough, you can find amazing deals here.
9. Cultural Center of the Philippines
This is where you really see Filipino talent shine. It’s worth checking out performances or exhibits whenever you get the chance.

No matter how many times I’ve seen it, a Manila Bay sunset still hits the same. It’s simple, but it never gets old.
