I wanted a destination that offered amazing food, vibrant city life, cultural experiences, and budget-friendly travel. Thankfully, both cities delivered more than I expected.


Traveling from Manila to Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur gave me the perfect mix of history, modern attractions, shopping, and nightlife. Since both destinations are well connected by low-cost airlines, planning my twin city travel experience was surprisingly easy.

As soon as I arrived, I immediately noticed the energy of the city. The streets were alive with motorbikes, local cafes, and street food vendors. I stayed near District 1 because it gave me easy access to tourist attractions, restaurants, and nightlife.


Things I Loved in Ho Chi Minh City

I could honestly spend days just eating in Ho Chi Minh City. From pho to banh mi and fresh spring rolls, every meal felt authentic and affordable.

I visited famous spots like:

  • Central Post Office

  • Ben Thanh Market

These places helped me understand Vietnam’s rich culture and history.

My Journey From Ho Chi Minh City to Kuala Lumpur

After exploring Vietnam, I flew from Ho Chi Minh City to Kuala Lumpur. The flight was quick, budget-friendly, and perfect for travelers doing a multi-country Southeast Asia trip.

Kuala Lumpur felt completely different from Ho Chi Minh City. It was more modern, organized, and multicultural. I enjoyed seeing the blend of Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences throughout the city.


What I Enjoyed Most in Kuala Lumpur

1. The Petronas Twin Towers

Seeing the Petronas Towers in person was unforgettable. The skyline at night looked incredible, especially from nearby rooftop spots.


2. Food Adventures

Kuala Lumpur is truly a food paradise. I tried:

  • Nasi lemak

  • Satay

  • Roti canai

  • Teh tarik

The food was flavorful, affordable, and available almost everywhere.


3. Shopping and City Life

I explored Bukit Bintang, where I found malls, cafes, local markets, and street performers. It became one of my favorite areas in KL.
